The Aquasil Lens™ is produced from a unique type of siloxanyl methacrylate monomer which, when immersed in an acidic environment, produces a layer of HEMA on the surface of the finished lens. In The Aquasil Lens™ the hydroxyl groups of HEMA are permanently bonded to the polymer plastic which ARE NOT REACTIVE. Please note the silicone monomer used in the construction of The Aquasil Lens™ is exclusively patented by Progressive Optical Research Ltd. for its application in contact lenses. |
