Do you wear spectacles?
for:

Everything?

The person who wears spectacles for every activity they undertake is ideally suited to contact lens wear. They offer allow the freedom of seeing without the hindrance of glasses. For example keen golfers find golfing in the rain irksome if they have to wear their specs to play, as do hill walkers and sailors.

Many ladies like to wear contact lenses for social purposes as they feel spectacles are not flattering, (this also applies to gentlemen incidentally!).

Astigmatism

Astigmatism is a word that many people have heard applied to themselves but do not know what it is.

It is basically a word that describes the shape of one eyes i.e. the front part of their eyes is not spherical, like a football, but TOROIDAL like a rugby ball and a person with astigmatism may require TORIC lenses.

Many people with toroidal eyes are regrettably told that they are unsuitable for contact lenses which is UNTRUE. Virtually any shape of eye can be fitted with contact lenses but a higher degree of skill is required by the Contact lens practitioner. So if you have been told that you are unsuitable for contact lenses get another opinion from a practitioner who specialises in contact lens fitting and preferably one  who has been recommended to you.

The person who only requires glasses for reading  would not consider contact lenses, but the advent of bifocal lenses is changing things. If you would like to know more click here.
